Humble Service in the Body of Christ
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;
7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
Romans 12:3-8
At Roberts Overdoors we have several positions, each one has a purpose and each one is vital to our success. Not one is more important than the other.
Communication among all moving parts of a company is most important.
- Each member of the company should know they are important to the success of each day.
- We are a family and a team.
- We need each one and need to lift each other up.
- Teach each other.
- Communicate with each other.
- Do our best to make each of us successful at what we do.
We do second chances, we do grace, we do real, we do mistakes (and act appropriately when we do), we do I’m sorry, we do loud, we do hugs, we do family and we do Love.
I will not require employees to be Christians but all will understand we are a faith based company and respect that this company was founded on and continues to operate on, biblical principles.
Christian Graces
2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; 3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, 4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Colossians 4:2-4
This passage speaks to continuing to pray even when the results are not coming. We should pray for our company and each other. The company may not always go the direction you believe it should. It will go the direction God intends. He is faithful and knows what is best so continue doing what is right.
At times you may have a job take a bad turn. Pause. Stop, and Think about what needs to get done, and pause again. Sometimes we need to take a breath before reacting to a situation, so stop, take a breath and consider what needs done.
5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
Colossians 4: 5-6
We should always remember that our customers do not know doors or operators. They don’t understand the dos and don’ts. As well not everyone here knows everything you know. Always speak to each other and our customers well with love and respect.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
Romans 12:10
29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.”
Mark 12:29 – 31
- Always explain to customers all options including the pros and cons of all options.
- We should never talk down to each other or our customers.
- We are always informative and helpful to customers and each other.
We will honor our customers and each other and show love and respect by putting others first. We have a great responsibility in installing and servicing garage doors and operators. We need to take pride in the task that we do.
- Sometimes people are stuck in their garage, we get them out.
- Service station doors need to work so they can get their customers vehicles out once they are fixed.
- Warehouses need their dock doors to work so they can load up product and utilize each door.
- People like their remotes and keypads to work, it is frustrating when they are not working.
- Customers enjoy their door being quiet and running.
- We should enjoy making customers happy.
Just as we enjoy our alarm clock to work, our vehicles to start and our garage doors to open. It is nice when everything works properly, that is what we do help people keep their garage doors working properly.
This company does the right things and we strive to do them right the first time. We understand we can’t be perfect, but we strive to continually get better every day. We will set personal and team goals to keep us motivated, as well motivate each other.
We are a value based company that is driven by the quality of everything we do.
Statement from Owner Christopher Mann
I am humbled to be the third owner of Roberts Overdoors Inc. As a Christian and a family focused entrepreneur, I believe that faith is a key ingredient in small business success. At Roberts Overdoors, we believe that if you honor God through your business He will direct your path. Our business was built on the foundation of doing what is “right” for our customers and employees, and we’ve been doing it since 1958. Professionalism means we take great satisfaction in our work, striving always to do it “right.” If we happen to fall short of that we will do our best to make it correct. My hope is that we exceed your expectations, so you will have peace of mind when recommending us to your friends and family. We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve your residential or commercial garage door needs. It is my goal to be the company you trust enough to call for your Mom, or place of business. We’ll get you up and running, so you can accomplish what needs to be done.
We sincerely “Love garages and care about yours!”
